Psalmopoeus irminia, sometimes referred to as the Venezuelan Sun Tiger, is a gorgeous arboreal tarantula with velvety black colouring and eye-catching orange patterns on the legs and abdomen. Its native habitats include Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela. For many years, and still today, the Psalmopoeus genus has been a mainstay of the hobby.

In general, this species is a good feeder and grows at a respectable rate. It is a quick tarantula with a stronger venom than other new world tarantulas. It is the perfect tarantula for anybody who wants to own a Poecilotheria because its speed and behavioural characteristics are comparable.
